Describes test procedures and equipment that can be used to evaluate and compare polymer performance under standard laboratory conditions. These recommended tests are for qualitative comparison of performance and general screening of polymers under specific conditions. Suggested procedures are presented for sample preparation; evaluation of polymer solution rheology and flow through porous media; filterability testing of polymer solutions; determining concentration of polymers in solutions; and evaluation of polymer retention.
