Full Description
Hydrogen peroxide based treatment systems have been used for several years for the removal of inorganic and organic contaminants in municipal wastewater and industrial process waters. Since hydrogen peroxide is a powerful oxidant and completely miscible in water, it is effective for destroying a broad spectrum of contaminants and an ideal chemical for potable water treatment. Due to stricter regulations on disinfection byproducts (DBPs), hydrogen peroxide has been used increasingly as a chlorine alternative for the pretreatment of municipal drinking water. Hydrogen peroxide is an attractive alternative to other oxidants for several reasons. Hydrogen peroxide has water and oxygen as decomposition products. In addition, although hydrogen peroxide systems should be designed to produce minimal residuals, if a residual is present, the hydrogen peroxide can be effectively removed by chlorination. Examples of hydrogen peroxide effectiveness for the removal of common contaminants found in groundwaters and surface water potable water supplies. Product Details
