Full Description
The Pinellas County water system department is implementing a comprehensive computerized information management and performance evaluation system. The department maintains a network utilizing a DEC Station 5000 in Ultrix as a host server. Attached to the network are multiple DEC workstations, which run both VMS and ULTRIX and serve as workstations on the network. This paper presents an update on the status of the implementation. The system being implemented is comprised of CASS WORKS maintenance management and hydraulic modeling modules which are fully integrated and share a common ORACLE table structure. Capabilities include an inventory database of infrastructure network structure, including location, description, and vendor/manufacturer data; storage, retrieval, and analysis of field inspection records; complete work order history for all maintenance activities; a means to automatically schedule, generate, and track work orders for both preventative and unscheduled maintenance activities; cost accounting for all maintenance activities including materials, equipment and personnel costs; control of parts, materials, and equipment used to perform all maintenance activities; and network modeling to determine system capacity/demand.
