The City of Bloomington, Minnesota, SCADA system with an 800 MHz trunk system as its communication media proved to be a challenging, yet successful endeavor. The ability to communicate to forty-three field sites in an established format without interrupting the rest of the city's communication operation proved to be a noteworthy accomplishment. The City of Bloomington, Minnesota, wanted an efficient SCADA system to communicate through a trunk system. To achieve this, many mutual decisions were required by the city, consulting engineer, Ericsson GE, and Autocon. In addition, a balance had to be established between frequency of reporting and ease of operation.
