Full Description

A 65% reduction in labor time was realized at Tacoma City, (Washington) using new equipment described. The drain on the new gravimetric tank drains 80% faster than the old tank, emptying the entire 250 cubic feet in just 2 1/2 minutes. The computer actually runs the tests by itself: setting the appropriate flow rates, water quantities, and operating the control valves. The only tasks left to the operator are setting the meter's registers, starting the tests, and entering the meter reads. The computer does all the rest! Test data can be retrieved in seconds by merely typing in the meter number. With the 20 MB hard drive, there is room for approximately 18,000 meter records to be stored. The utilization of in house labor and design services accounted for a significant savings in the cost of the project, which totaled $60,000.00.
