The stated purpose of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is to provide a clear and comprehensive national mandate for elimination of discrimination against individuals with disabilities, to provide clear and consistent standards addressing such discrimination, and to assure that congressional and federal authority is used to enforce the provisions of the ADA. The ADA is organized into five titles: I) Employment; II) Public Services; III) Public Accommodations and Services Rendered by Private Entities; IV) Telecommunications; V) Miscellaneous Provisions. This paper overviews each of the titles.
