Full Description
The network Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD) has and is building is designed to provide the conduit for effective transfer of data in many different formats between a variety of computer systems. The hardware, network architecture, and the data communications protocols are prepared. The software interfaces available in the marketplace are, as usual, lagging behind the hardware. This has allowed the network to be designed for the future and necessitated a phased approach to actual transfer of data between systems. Data transfer improvements will be implemented as they become available and where they are deemed cost effective and necessary. This paper addresses the network concepts for support of the DWSD's many computer systems and their interfaces to other City of Detroit computer systems and networks. Product Details
