The nation's municipal and industrial water supply is mostly a responsibility of non-Federal interests. However, the Corps of Engineers' reservoir system is a vital resource in the nation's system. Better operation of its reservoirs, both individually and system-wide, along with reallocation where needed can substantially augment water supply capability.
