Full Description
This guide to troubleshooting and problem solving for process control projects is based on lessons learned from past projects. The solutions presented are for preventing the problem during the development of specifications. A total of 42 problems are listed under 10 headings: database, factory acceptance tests, training, report formats and requirements, CRT display actions, local control interface, application of redundant equipment, control strategies, loop controller interface, and contract management. For each problem is given: the symptom (i.e., "it is difficult to turn on and off automatic process control"); the problem (i.e., "no or limited provisions in the graphics for activating or selecting the control strategies"), and the solution (i.e., "Each control strategy should be addressed in the CRT displays in a way similar to the equipment. A special group of CRT displays should show the current mode the strategy is in, the modes available, and allow an operator to switch between modes."). Product Details
