The author holds that the new generation of potable water tank linings are polyurethanes. Recent developments in the technology has allowed polyurethane manufacturers to produce a 100% solids, instant setting, two component, highly cross-linked, additive-free polyurethane coating suitable for potable water contact. This paper describes the advantages of using polyurethanes for tank coating and lining, including safety, water quality, application, performance, and cost.
