Concern about water quality in the distribution system has given rise to a number of nonsteady state models that can track water quality constituents in the distribution system. A critical step in applying water quality models to actual distribution systems is field calibration and verification. This paper reports on a study that used intermittent fluoridation at a water treatment plant to calibrate the model.
