Full Description

The City of Bloomington, Illinois, obtains its water from two man made lakes, one having a 69% larger drainage area and the other having a 77% larger storage capacity. The two lakes act very differently in the way they are affected by agricultural runoff. The great majority of the watershed area for both lakes is used for agricultural production, which has created problems. This paper discusses two main impacts which are the effects of agricultural chemicals and the siltation that has occurred from erosion of agricultural lands.
