The role of sulfide-oxidizing bacteria during air-stripping was investigated in a diffused-air pilot reactor modeled after an existing treatment facility. Total sulfide, dissolved oxygen, pH, and electrode potential were monitored at eight locations in the reactor to characterize the process. Includes 16 references, tables, figures.
