This article discusses experiments which were conducted in natural and deionized distilled water to establish the extent to which chlorine diminishes the ability of activated carbon to adsorb 2-methylisoborneol (MIB). The findings reported here expand on this research to show the effect of kinetics and equilibria and the result of allowing a short time of powdered activated carbon (PAC) contact before chlorine addition. Includes 24 references, tables, figures.
