Costs of systems that would provide different levels of water and sanitation services for a Brazilian community were analyzed using computer techniques and local cost data. At all levels of service, the cost of supplying both water and sanitation is approximately twice that of providing water alone. A system using yard taps and on-site waste disposal was found to be most appropriate when cost is an important consideration. Includes 4 references, tables.
