A plant study was conducted to examine the feasibility of trace organic control through the use of powdered activated carbon. Results indicate that PAC can reduce trihalomethane formation levels up to 56 percent. Measurements of total organic carbon, fluorescence intensity, threshold odor number, pH, turbidity, free available chlorine, and UV are covered. Includes 12 references, tables, figures.
