Scope

This standard applies to bushings for use as components of liquid-immersed transformers and liquid-immersed reactors. This standard does not apply to the following: - High-voltage cable terminations (potheads) - Bushings for circuit breakers - Bushings for instrument transformers including station service voltage transformers - Bushings for test transformers - Bushings in which the internal insulation is provided by a gas - Bushings applied with gaseous insulation (other than air at atmospheric pressure) external to the bushing - Bushings for automatic circuit reclosers and line sectionalizers - Bushings for oil-less and oil-poor apparatus - Bushings for dc applications

Purpose

This standard defines the special terms used, service conditions, rating, general requirements, and test procedures for bushings. See C57.19.01, C57.19.04 and PC57.19.02 for specific listings of values of electrical and mechanical characteristics, dimensions, and other related requirements that are defined or described in this standard. C57.19.100 provides an application guide for the bushings defined in this standard.

Abstract

Revision Standard - Active.Bushings that have basic impulse insulation levels of above 110 kV for use as components of liquid-immersed transformers and liquid-immersed reactors are addressed by this standard.
